Hello,

the same as in 4.0.0.11:

This version is changing the modified date/time of downloaded files to the current time, whereas previous versions would use the date/time from the server.

Please fix this. Thank you.

Anonymous said...

Right,

I agree that setting the file's date and time right (that is, according to the server's file timestamp when so requested as per the user preferences) should be a very high priority item for fixing.

I find this to be a major annoyance.

Please, Please, re-instate whatever code was doing this properly in older releases.

Best Regards, and Many thanks!

I am trying to use Orbit to DL this video, but I can't... it is for a review course of mine.

Could someone try it and see if it works for them. It always says "URL Not Found" -- I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

i just want it to stop crashing when software updater is run... its been like this since the changelog listed the same problem as "fixed"

Anonymous said...

Everything works fine for me.

Anonymous said...

well on windows-7 64-bit on an intel i7 9500 with 6gb ram it crashes doing a software update, and i deleted all my old install files because microsoft security essentials were showing them as infected with adware

Anonymous said...

Don't trust microsoft security essentials, it is trojan at computer.

Anonymous said...

i trust it more than zone alarm or avg... and it isnt a massive performance hit like those 2... but it couldnt be that causing orbit to crash on software update

Greetings Team!
Could you please add one small future for next update? I would like to have separate folder for each day of download. Now Completed folder is a big mess...
I believe that it's w'll be very useful for all users who download a lot.
E.g.
\Completed(1290)
\2011-05-03(40)
\2011-05-02(10)
\2011-04-24(112)
...

Hey,
I just updated Firefox to Firefox 4 and I can't figure out how to download songs any more. The little arrow that used to be on my navigation toolbar is gone. Is it just me, or is orbit officially not compatible with Firefox anymore?
Please Help!!!!!!

Austin said...

Hey,
I recently updated my Firefox to Firefox 4. The little blue/white down-pointing arrow is not on my navigation toolbar anymore and I have no idea how to download songs on Firefox anymore. Is there another way to download songs on Firefox or is Orbit no longer compatible with Firefox?
Please Help!!!!!!
Thanks!

Anonymous said...

+1 to make that software informer component optional. its buggy as hell, doesnt report correct versions for alot of apps and since 4.0.0.7 crashes orbit every time u use it...

Anonymous said...

Unable to download flash videos after upgrading to firefox 4. the get it icon or any feature of orbit that can be accessed by right click is missing. It become absolutely unusable in case of firefox 4

Anonymous said...

Didn't work with Firefox 4. Too bad, a great tool but now it's useless.

Austin said...

WHY CAN'T IT WORK WITH FIREFOX 4!!!!

Anonymous said...

why we can`t customize details of downloading file ? for example , I don`t want elapsed time , or start time to be shown in the list . but every time i reopen Orbit its restored to defaults .

To whom it may concern,

Version 4.1.0.1 has been released today (june 7, 2011), is downloadable using the link
that announced v4.1.0.0.

...And yet it's not even officially
announced in this blog by the author(s).

Thanks anyway!

Orbit Downloader is incompatible with Firefox 5.0

This is a *very* major bug.

Not only is Orbit incompatible with FF 5.0, if you force it to be "compatible" with something like Nightly Tester Tools or Add-On Compatibility Reporter, you get this error dialog every time FF starts:

--------------------------------------------------------
[JavaScript Application]
TypeError: Components.classes[cid] is undefined
--------------------------------------------------------

So, no "Get-It." And, worst of all for me, no right-click-on-link ability to download with Orbit.

HELP!!!

Orbit was the best, but it no longer integrates with firefox, so I have switched to "Download Them All" until the developers get their act together and update Orbit so we can use the OneClick and right-click context menu with FireFox.

Are Opera and Orbit still not friends ? I tried it a year ago and everytime i tried to download something opera opened a new page with that text " download is transferred to orbit downloader pls push back to continue browsing . However in the settings all file types were associated to orbit plugin . It worked the right way if i chose orbitdownloader.exe chekin the box "send http address ..". But i had to do it with each file type . Was a bit tiring .

Hey there! Thanks for this update over here, that was so nice to get to know this information.

Anonymous said...

Wow. I'm using Firefox 8.01. and it's November 30,2011 6:53 pm EST here in the USA. I added all that because none of that information is showing up in any of the blog posts I've read. So I don't know how old all this stuff is. Should I not even allow the Orbit software through my firewall??? I'm reading nothing but problems here. Windows is bad enough, I don't need yet another headache. I can use the totally free YouTube Downloader (no, it's not specifice to youtube) I got it from CNET, so it's certified free and very user friendly, and I do not have to connect to any "Orbit Peer Network" of other Orbit users. (no offense guys and girls) but hey, I can't find any assurance anywhere here that there isn't a backdoor into my home computer network when I'm not sitting right here monitoring...right? so why am I gonna bother? maybe I'm just paranoid? maybe not.

I was hoping the last update will finally remove a problem that I have since a couple of versions of OD. There is something strange inside the preferences of OD - it detects Opera (the browser's checkbox is checked) but there is no integration whatsoever (never worked although I look everywhere for information about this matter). The funny thing is that I have Maxthon 3. OD is integrated with the browser BUT in the preferences OD doesn't detect the browser. When I click on the checkbox and OK after that, I get "Orbit Downloader can not integrate with Maxthon please check if Maxthon is installed". :D So it detects one browser but doesn't work with it at all, yet it works with another browser, which according to the preferences is not even installed. :D
